- Forsoils: A group of forest soil scientists of broad expertise with involvement in many professional organizations, a listserv that often provides good help to researchers in need of advice or assistance.
- North American Carbon Project (NACP): Coalition of scientists measuring and working towards understanding of C fluxes in North America and adjacent oceans
